An interesting fact... Products do not need to have any independent safety testing performed on them before they go on sale !!
We test all our products to the highest safety standards with SGS (a highly respected Worldwide testing house who specialise in baby product testing). We always test the product to the appliciable standard i.e. our travel cot the Holi-Doze was tested to the BSEN Travel Cot standard !!! Along with other suitable tests. We always do this before any item is introduced for sale.
To ensure ANY product you buy for your baby has been tested and is of the safest and highest standard ask !! Also ask which standards the product was tested too.. for travel cots the recommended British and European Standard is:
BS 7423:1999 - Specification for safety requirements for children's travel cots of internal base length not less than 900mm.
BSEN 716-1:1996 - Furniture-Childrens Cots and folding cots for domestic use.
BS 1877:Part 10:1997 - Domestic Bedding
Specification for mattresses and bumpers for childrens cots perambulators and similar domestic articles.
There is also THE GENERAL PRODUCTS SAFETY DIRECTIVE - This basically says all products should be fit and safe for the purpose of which they are sold.
